There are so many virtues to extoll in life. The more you possess, the happier in life you will be. It’s as uncomplicated as that.
- Humbleness
- Honesty
- Patience
- Selflessness
- Loyalty
- Charity
There are others, and gratitude may be the most significant. “Gratitude is not only the greatest of all virtues, but the parent of all others.” – Cicero
Timing
Perhaps this is a perfect time to remember Cicero’s commentary. It’s been a tumultous week and a half in Fairfield County, Ct. A record storm, a Presidential election and a record snowfall. It’s so easy to fall into a trap whereby you wonder what else could go wrong.
Actually there’s a lot more that could if we allow it to. Yet we can be greatful for being in one of the most rewarding businesses in the world.
- Meeting so many different personality types.
- Having people invite you into their lives.
- Being entrusted with such a personal and valuable commodity as is one’s home.
A Simple Track
At a time when we observe so many coming to the aide of others in so many different ways, it’s quite obvious that there is no more important thing in life as doing just that. Whether it’s family, friends or strangers. The path is not always easy to stay on, but it’s that simple.
What has occurred this week that made you feel particularly grateful?
