Growing What You Have With Abundance

Of the many realtors that I speak with, it is becoming clear to me that some are unknowingly committed to impeding their own growth.  The obstacles that they create in their mind are fairly common.

  • I don’t have children so I miss out on access to the spectrum of business that is generated from school and children’s social activity.
  • I have children and thus am encoumbered with all kinds of responsibility that impedes me from working the hours that I need too.
  • I’m not married and so my social circle is by definition cut in half.
  • I don’t have the resources to belong to a country club.
  • I don’t have the resources to invest in personal promotion.
  • My sphere is too young.
  • My sphere is old.
  • I haven’t lived in town long enough.

I probably can write a list of at least twenty more obstacles.  The truth of the matter, however, is that none of them are valid.

The Proof

How do I know this?  I know this because after twenty-five years in the business I have seen many individuals, with at least one of those so called obstacles, meet with tremendous success.  There is a mantra in life that you should “blossom where you are planted.”

The Imaginary Ceiling

Some think that they are pre-destined to be one of the Realtors to struggle and thus create an imaginary ceiling to their success.  It’s as if they feel guilty, undeserving of success and convince themselves that they are satisfied with the crumbs leftover by the top producers.

Abundance

We were placed on earth to enjoy abundance and to share it with others.  Yet you can’t share what you don’t have.  The most surefire way to create what you need is to avoid depending on others and to grow what you do have.  Others have proven many times over that that is be more than enough.
