Lessons I Learned…

…from the last real estate seminar that I attended:

1.  Create new content (blogs, videos) vs. repeating information already known by most.

2.  Youtube.com recieves 4 billion views a day.  More than the three major networks combined.

3.  NAR data:  Seventy-three percent of sellers would be more likely to list with an agent using video, yet less than one percent of all agents do so.

4.  Video is fifty times more likely to create search engine “juice” than text.

5.  Use video testimonials.

6.  Keep videos under two minutes.

7.  Leave the past behind.

8.  Understand and embrace changing consumer expectations.

9.  Consumers want:

  • information at their fingertips
  • control
  • transparency
  • integrity
  • authenticity
  • performance

10.  Activate and update your Linkedin and facebook profile immediately.

11.  NAR data: Seventy-six percent of listing agents use paper presentation, fourteen percent use a computer and ten percent “wing it.”

12.  Be different:  Use a lap top or tablet for the “wow” factor.

13.  Focus your branding on neighborhoods.

14.  Don’t let consumers become more tech savvy than you.

Do you educate yourself on consumer expectations?

How can you better adapt to them?
