The theme of this week’s blog posts at The Daily Tonic has been the challenges and solutions that Realtors face when servicing their seller clients and the artful communication skills that are required in meeting their responsibilities. Whatever your skill level, there are certain truisms in real estate that Realtors need to understand in order to build a successful business.
VIOLATE THEM AT YOUR OWN RISK
- When meeting with current or potential clients, spend more time learning their motivation than anything else. Unless you have an accurate understanding of what it will take to help them achieve their goals and offer a solution, your experience with them will likely be painful.
- You work for free until closing so work with those who are highly motivated to close quickly.
- Generating seller leads is the only way to shine.
- Those who list last…
- Socializing with Realtors in your town can be fun and well intended but will bring you little business.
- Many agents are great in great markets, great agents are great in challenging markets.
- Refrain from writing offers on a property until both husband and wife have seen it.
- A face to face meeting between buyer and seller before closing is seldom a good idea.
- Occupancy prior to closing is a mistake that you’ll only make once.
- Clients remember the closing experience as much as they remember the price.
Keep these truisms in mind when building your business and when communicating with clients. If you follow them it will be difficult not to be at the “head of the class.”
