March Madness and the NCAA season ending college basketball tournament has begun this week.
Basketball afecionodos know that the art of rebounding is crucial to a team’s success and a very unique skill. Baskeball coaches will tell you that, moreso than any other talent, it has a lot less to do with a player’s size than their determination and instincts. A look at the top rebounders every year in the sport supports the coaches’ perspective.
Goals in Business
An interesting parallel can be drawn with attaining your goals in the business world. Goal attainment is also about instincts and desire. The instincts to know which goals are attainable based on your strengths and desire to pursue them.
Misplaced Criticism
It’s discouraging for many when they don’t reach their goals. They are often engulfed in a feeling of failure. They shouldn’t be so critical of themselves. Falling short of reaching your goals is not usually so much a lack of ability as it is a lack of passion.
Your Treasure
The old adage about following your heart to find your treasure rings true here. The pursuit of your goals is much more enjoyable if the path to attain them is defined by your heart.
The first quarter is soon coming to a close. Are you on target to attaining your annual goals? If not then it may be time to re-access them. And this time around keep one thing in mind – it’s about passion and desire!
