For some, Mondays can be difficult. It’s the start of another week. There’s so much to do. So much that you expect of yourself. So much that you want to accomplish. It can all be very overwhelming. If you’re a realtor, you certainly have a lot on your list.
- Follow up from yesterday’s open house with phone calls.
- A thank you note to both those who you were able to reach and those who you were not.
- Preparation for this week’s broker open house.
- Feedback calls.
- Communication with your clients.
- Prospecting for new clients.
- Paperwork to attend to.
- Research information on the properties of interest to the buyers who you worked with over the weekend.
- Negotiations
- Social Media endeavors including video
The list goes on and on.
A Bizillion Times Before
When is the last time that you didn’t feel this way on a Monday? Perhaps you never have. But if you’re like most, the feeling is all too familiar and you can’t remember the last time that you didn’t.
Confidence
I think that in many cases the feeling of angst that we have is about the fear of not being able to successfully accomplish all of these tasks by week’s end. And that fear, in one respect or another, is most always related to confidence or a lack thereof.
A Different Approach
Perhaps this week it’s time to try a different approach. Begin your week remembering all the things in life that you have accomplished. Think of the many incidences when you met with success. Build upon that, trust in your abilities and in your energy source. You’ve made it through last week. Things have worked out for you in life thus far. Maybe not quite like you would have liked. But there’s always this week. Perhaps all it will take for that overwhelming feeling of anxiousness to dissipate is to begin your week with a mental adjustment, a display of confidence and a dash of something new.
Are you one of the many who feel overwhelmed by Mondays?
If so do you think a new approach might be worthwhile?
If not, what’s your secret?
