The Power Of The Team

Another Monday thru Friday has come and gone – and what an exciting week it has been.  Shooting a video, writing blogs, attend a presentation, talking to past and potential clients, adding to our staging team, adding a new social media specialist and helping fellow team members find solutions to challenges.  It’s been one of those weeks that has made the claim by leadership blogger Dan Rockwell crystal clear.  “Teamwork is your path to maximum, meaningful impact in career and life.”

The Video

The video with Wendy was as enjoyable as anything that I engaged in this week.  To hear about the career path of someone so successful at such a young age is exhilarating.  I invited Wendy to do this Tuesday and we produced Thursday morning.  The infrastructure of the team allows us such capabilities.

The Presentation

The presentation was scheduled on Thursday also.  What a great dynamic, presenting with someone whom I’ve trained and yet  learned from at the same time. She gave me as great a compliment as she could have when it was over.  “You blended right in with people you didn’t even know and made them feel totally comfortable.”  It was obvious to me that the potential clients enjoyed what we shared and have to offer.

The Opportunity For You

Building relationships is what it’s all about.  I once thought that I could go it alone.  Now I realize that no one can.  That’s quite evident at our team meetings every week.  Everyone of us has an opportunity for mentorship, and the savvy business person finds theirs.  A Vice-President at one of America’s most successful companies insightfully advises, “There are three critical ingredients for high performance – talent, skill and community.”

Have you found your “community?”

Is this perspective one that you’ve ever considered?
