Security is very important to humans. In fact it’s about as important of a feeling as any that there is. When it comes to emotional upheaval, loss of control, concerns about finance or simply the behavior that we consistently demonstrate, one way or another it can all be traced to security or a lack thereof.
Consistency
There certainly is an interesting link between consistency and feelings of security. Whether it be the compositon of our DNA or the fabric of who we are, we all seem to have an overwhelming feeling of attachment toward something that is consistent. Oddly enough, consistently bad is almost more comforting than intermittently good. We like to know what to expect.
Blogging
I’ve become more aware of this phenomenon since I began writing my blog in November 2011. I hope that readers feel that The Daily Tonic has been enjoyable to read and informative. One thing I do know is that I’ve been consistent with posting to it every Monday thru Friday. I am sure that this is one reason that the viewership continues to grow as it does.
Home Ownership
If there is anything that makes one feel as secure as consistency, it’s owning a home. That’s what makes what we do as realtors so valuable and peerless. That is why we carry such a heavy dose of responsibilty. It’s the unique position that we are in. We are the thread that weaves the prospect of home ownership with the burden of inconsistency that many of our clients carry with them from day to day. We are essentially commissioned to seamlessly marry the dichotomic experiences and feelings of our clients into one neat package.
A Thought
Think about that the next time you start your day with less enthusiasm than you would like. Remember that you are about to embark on a journey that is impregnated with the possibility of providing security to those with otherwise insecure lives. You have the potential to impact the universe of others in a way that is truly unique to you. Yes, security is very important indeed. And so is what we do.
