What You See Is Not What You Get

I had dinner last evening with someone whom I befriended about a year ago.  We enjoy one another’s company.

An Awakening

We laughed about the perceptions that we had of one another before we were friends.  We had no inkling that we were such kindred spirits.  I had no idea that his energy was as vibrant as it is and that there was such depth to his personality.  My surprise of course was due to shallowness on my part; what I had heard about him and observations from afar.

Co-operative Business

Realtors are encouraged to co-operate with one another and they often do.  Co-operation is extremely beneficial in our efforts to bring buyers and sellers together.

Cover Judging

There would be more opportunity to do so, however, if we abandoned our propensity as people to judge one another based on information that we perceived to be true rather than the truth itself.  “Judging a book by it’s cover” so to speak.  Our clients would certainly benefit as would the universe in general.  After all, what is truth?

Timing

I suppose that there are no accidents in life. When two sources of energy are ready to meet, they meet.  This occurs on a business level every bit as much as on a personal level.  It’s an opportunity that should be embraced with eyes wide open.  If you are fully receptive to the experience, your life can be forever enriched, sometimes immensely.

Have you ever been surprised at the difference between your perception of  someone and what they were actually about?

How did you feel about that after getting to know the person?

I believe, and practice everyday, to open my mind..This is acctually new for me this year, a new years resolution of sorts. One way to open ones mind is to actually “close your eyes” and open your mind, and your heart, and simply listen. What I have found, not only personally but professionally,. is that when one has the confidence in themselves and can open their mind they begin to see all that is out in front of them. Its like being a child again and having no judgements or perseptions, just big eyes wanting to take everything in . I remember when I was little and everything was new and exciting. I had an energy that simply attracted more positve energy.

So this year I am walking a path with my eyes wide open, taking everything in! No judgements, no persception! and if my energy is positive it will attract more positve energy in both my personal life and buisness life. I am so excited for whats ahead.

Thank you for sharing your experience… it was a confirmation of sorts….

  2. Forgive me, My first comment, as I have really just started drinking the Tonic…I am very pleased so far…Wow! I have a favorite…Thanks for sharing…

    This is my life…Agreed…no accidents…
