Something To Contemplate

This week’s blog posts discussed managing stress, the attributes that a Realtor needs for success, the impact of the organization that you work for and maintaining your principles.  Below are a few things to contemplate over the weekend, particularly if you are interested in building your career for the future or if it currently isn’t quite where you want it to be.

  1. How have you changed your approach to doing business to adapt to the changes in our industry?  With Buyers?  With Sellers?
  2. Are there things that you’re doing to build your business that are not producing results?  If so, is the impetus to continue based on a personal belief that they’ll eventually yield benefits?  Or is it because someone told you that they would?  Trust your instincts.
  3. How solid is your customer database?  Is it complete and current?
  4. What are your biggest strengths and weaknesses?
  5. How well do you know the business model of your competition?
  6. How do they position themselves when competing against you?
  7. What are they doing that you’re not?
  8. What are your strategies regarding social media – Video?  Facebook?  Pinterest? Twitter?
  9. If real estate is becoming more consultive in nature, what are you doing to maintain relevancy?

The answers to these questions have particular significance as you begin to conceptualize your business plan for 2013.

Have you ever written a business plan?

If not, do you think that the changing landscape of real estate might inspire a change in your approach?
